food people: KYLE IMAO wins JUNIOR MASTERCHEF

     A simple 12-year old boy from Marikina City, Kyle Imao, won the grand prize in the finale live cook off of “Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition”, a reality cooking contest of ABS CBN for kids who love to cook ages 8 to 12 years of age. Hosted by Ms. Judy Ann Santos Agoncillo who also plays one of the judges in its final night, February 18, 2012, held live and televised from Treston International College at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

     It is said that he’s from family of  visual artists whose famous in the field of painting and architecture. Thus, you can see the boy’s creative mind in his artistic way of cooking, plating, and food presentation. The kitchen serves as his  shaping venue for his talent. Aside from cooking, he also enjoys the company of his rabbits.

     The contestants were asked to do their “dream dishes” and cook it within 30 minutes. He presented his Asian Fusion dish in a colorful plating combined with its good taste which earned him a total score of 91.8 points, followed by Philip Amarillo of Cebu in second place with 91.1 points. Third place goes to Mika Tanaka of Quezon City with 84 points and fourth place goes to Jobim Jalbuena of Makati City with 73.4 points.

     The Grand Winner, Kyle, will take home P 1 million with Samsung Galaxy Tab and will luckily receive a culinary scholarship worth P 1.5 million from Treston International College.

     Congratulations to Kyle Imao and I am hoping that you’ll keep on cooking yummy food, new tastes, and luscious to the eyes. Keep it up!
